Control Systems Engineer – St. Louis Metro Area

Process Controls Solutions is a value-added distributor and application specialist of process equipment and control products. Additionally, we provide systems integration services and specialize in the design, build, and startup of process and industrial control systems.

We have an immediate opening for a Control Systems Engineer in our systems group. This position requires a passionate individual who demonstrates initiative, ownership, and creative problem-solving skills and patience to evaluate and troubleshoot control system performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Main duties include the design, integration and maintenance of existing Allen-Bradley PLC and Wonderware Application Server Environment at customer facility.
  • Electrical control system documentation
  • Electrical control panel design
  • Instrumentation selection and specification
  • Project Management experience
  • Perform or work with 3rdParty to handle on-site installation, commissioning and validation

Required Education and Experience:

  • BS Electrical Engineering degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in system design and/or manufacturing environment
  • Project Management experience required
  • Past PLC and HMI Programming experience required
  • Designing control systems and strategies
  • Process control experience

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC Programming, Wonderware InTouch, Application Server and Historian
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, questioning and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong work ethic, ability to learn hands-on, attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work cross-functionally
  • Ability to perform various roles and responsibilities from day to day. Including, but not limited to programming, project management, design, client interaction, etc.
  • Ability to properly balance cost, schedule and quality of the delivered project
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously with varying scope and effectively prioritize workload to ensure deliverables are met
  • Capable of making complex decisions that drive business performance
